Our Story 

The San Clemente Certified Farmers Market was founded by Jan Peverill and Sandy Heil in April 1994.  Since inception, Rick and Sandy Heil have worked hard to bring fresh produce to the residents of San Clemente.  Their goal has always been to provide the highest quality produce to their loyal customers.  All farmers are certified by the Orange County Department of Agriculture, and strive to bring the freshest produce possible to the market.

We are always looking for new farmers that will enhance the market and who are dedicated to the same goals and standards we have consistently adhered to.  And most importantly, the farmer must have the highest standards to ensure the customer receives the best possible local produce.

Rick Heil has managed the market since inception.  Balancing an enhanced knowledge of business and economics, Mr. Heil strives to provide the ideal shopping environment to the customer.  This is accomplished through thorough examination of all market farmers and feedback from customers.  While maintaining the integrity of the market, Mr. Heil has been successfully able to maintain a community focused business since 1994.  With over 20 years of farmers market management experience, Mr. Heil has earned the respect and admiration of not only the community, but most importantly of the farmers.  Through sound policy and standard implementation by Mr. Heil, the San Clemente Certified Farmers Market has thrived.  Mr. Heil is always looking for customer feedback and challenges anyone to find a better farmers market.
